MY CAREER SO FAR
A quick overview of roles where I designed, built, and delivered real-world engineering solutions.
UVic – MiNa Lab
Technical Manager
Jan 2024 – Present | Victoria, BC

Lab Engineer supporting industry-sponsored research projects, with primary responsibility for the mechanical design, prototyping, and fabrication of experimental hardware. I led end-to-end development of modular prototype systems, balancing rapid iteration with manufacturability.
The role required coordinating in-house additive manufacturing and outsourced machining, while working closely with researchers and industry partners to translate research requirements into functional, testable systems under tight timelines.
UVic – MiNa Lab
Rapid Prototyper
Jan 2023 – Dec 2023| Victoria, BC

Rapid Prototyper supporting research groups and student teams by designing and fabricating custom mechanical components and assemblies. The role focused on translating early-stage ideas into physical prototypes through CAD, additive manufacturing, and hands-on fabrication, often under short timelines and evolving requirements.
Project Start
Founder · Design & Prototyping
Dec 2020 – Present (Contract) | Saanich, BC

Founder of Project Start, a self-directed mechanical design and prototyping business focused on taking ideas from concept through fabrication and small-batch production. I handle the full product lifecycle—including CAD, prototyping, manufacturing, iteration, and customer delivery; using in house tools and external suppliers to validate designs in real world use.
The work emphasizes rapid iteration, design for manufacturability, and clear tradeoffs between aesthetics, cost, and function.
Origen Air Systems LTD.
Mechanical Design Co-op
May 2021 – Apr 2022 | Victoria, BC

Mechanical Engineering Co-op in a startup environment, operating as the mechanical design lead across multiple development cycles. I owned mechanical CAD, design-for-manufacturing decisions, supplier communication, and prototype deployment, supporting the transition from early prototypes to field-tested production units under tight timelines.
